Thomas S. Bixler Jr
Thomas S. Bixler Jr. was the fourth generation of E. H. Bixler & Sons, Inc. from 1974 through 1984. Tom is the father of Tim and Scott Bixler the Twins who currently are the fifth generation, much to his surprise both of which have followed in his footsteps. He is a graduate of St. Lawrence University, where he met his wife Judy, and where his sons graduated from in 2002.
Tom Jr. in his 10 year tenure was a very integral part of the success and foundation of the company. He and his Uncle Ed purchased the building at 758 Kearny Ave in 1978, and the office has been at this location ever since. In the real estate portion of the business Tom Jr. quickly became a rising star in the field, he became the first president of the New Jersey chapter of Certified Residential Specialists (CRS), served as numerous chairs of the Arlington Kearny Board of Realtors, and a member of the Optimist club of Kearny.
In 1984 Tom moved his family to Upstate New York to own and operate a car dealership which he did successfully for 20 years. Upon which an opportunity arose that he would be able to pursue his true passion of being a ferry boat captain. Both Tom and his wife Judy are the proud proprietors of the oldest privately owner ferry in the country, The Oxford-Bellvue Ferry located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
