Edgar Henry Bixler
Edgar Henry Bixler was born in Hanover, Pennsylvania, married Mildred Strong and joined his father-in-law in the family business in 1924. He became the 701st member of the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers and president of the New Jersey Chapter in 1953. He was instrumental in securing the position of contract sales and management broker for the Home Owners Loan Corporation (HOLC) in West Hudson and Bergen counties in 1937 and for nine years successfully administered a program of rehabilitation, rental, and finally the sale of over 600 properties for the Federal Government. He served as vice president of the New Jersey Association of Real Estate Boards and President of the Arlington Kearny Board of Realtors in 1930, 1937, and 1958. He taught appraising at Fairleigh Dickinson University from 1951 to 1955, was a Director of Equity Savings, and was a Charter member of the West Hudson Kiwanis Club.
